So many projects.... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

A few more pinwheels on the design wall.  Of course, I will not put them all up there since I need like 140+ of them.  Still many more to go.

I'm just sewing a few at a time between other projects.  Trimming and pressing as I go.  My ironing board seems to stay full of something that needs pressed.  LOL!

I've been working on more embroidered rope bowls.  I have a craft show coming up on October 8th but I also have orders coming in right and left.  Yesterday one lady ordered 9 bowls.

I know it looks ...

Memory Quilts and Pinwheels... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

Lots of quilting in the works!  I pieced a few more pinwheels for one of the customer quilts.  He wants it by Christmas so I'm just piecing a few here and there until I get a few of these other quilt orders done.  I'm also using the pieces for leaders and enders.

Just really running them through a few at a time and laying them on the ironing board and pressing them as I get a chance.  These are 8" blocks.
Saturday and Sunday I worked on cutting and prepping some shirts for a memory quilt.  I have ...

Time to put Christmas away from Romany Quilting

The Christmas quilts are down and put away, as are the other ornaments, so it was time to hang a fresh quilt over the sofa.  As the weather is nice and summery, I decided it was time to give my Aotearoa Blooming another chance to shine.  Designed by Jenny Hunter as applique patterns, featured in the New Zealand Quilter magazine some years ago, I decided to make my blocks as stitcheries.  The centre block showcases the pohutukawa, a large tree which bursts  into crimson red blossoms with yellow tips in the heat of summer, and is also known as the ...

Make-A-List Monday - Light At The End of That Tunnel! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Monday is here once again (and thankfully my time sense is back on straight so I KNOW it's Monday!) and that means it's time for a little list-making!  But first let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Quilt the three memory quilts.
Done!  I'm so glad to have these finished!

2.  Ship my friend's quilts to her.
Done!  She's already received them and sent me a picture of one of them on the bed!

3.  Finish piecing the hockey quilt.
Not finished, but progress made...

4.  Start repairing and re-assembling ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Finishes and Near-Finishes! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's been a fast week, but guess what?  It's Friday!  And that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  Are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

It's been a good and productive week around here!  When the world goes crazy, sometimes sewing is the only way to deal with it - and that's good for productivity.

Tuesday I quilted this beauty, and put the binding on too!

Wednesday morning it joined this beauty in a great big box and went to UPS!  It's winging its way to Florida and my ...

Make-A-List Monday - Getting Back To Normal! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's Monday, and I'm actually starting to feel my sew-jo coming back!  I made progress on some things last week, and it feels so good - and I actually want to work on more stuff this week.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Finish the borders on the third memory quilt.
Done!  I love these three quilts and how each is similar, but not exactly alike.

2.  Make the backs for those three quilts.
Done!  I didn't get a separate picture, but the backs are that blue fabric on the left ...

Make-a-List Monday - Nope, Still AWOL! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, it's official - my sew-jo is still AWOL!  But it's Monday, and that means it's time to look back at last week and take stock, and then look at the week ahead and make plans.  So let's get started with a look at last week's list...

1.  Have a friend over for a long arm "teaching day".
Done, and we had a lot of fun!  And in the process, we quilted this large quilt and put the binding on the smaller one.  And I actually put the binding on the larger one by ...

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? A Fun And Fruitful Day.... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has rolled around once more, and we all know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!!  I hope you're ready - just remember, it doesn't necessarily mean a finish, just something that you're doing a little happy dance about.  And I hope everyone has had something to whoop about this week!  So let's get started...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Thursday was a good day in my studio!  A friend of mine who recently got a long arm machine came over and I gave her some tips for quilting, since she hasn ...

Make-A-List Monday - And They Just Keep Crankin' Out.... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

 Hi, all!

Is it as hot where you are as it is here?  Whew, it's been a scorcher over the past week, with ridiculous humidity levels that make it really easy to stay inside.  Unfortunately, my sew-jo seemed to go into hiding so I didn't get as much done as I'd have liked, but I still had a respectable week.  Let's take a look at last week's list...

1.  Bind five quilts for the quilt ministry.
Done - and I've actually put binding on six more too!  We'll get that stash built back up ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A Different Kind of Week... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow - is it Friday already?  This week has literally flown by, along with the rest of July.  Can you believe that next week it's August, and in most of the country, kids will be heading back to school within a few days or weeks?  I spent some extra time with the kids this week after my daughter reminded me that they start school next week (fingers crossed!) I'm kind of curious how my youngest granddaughter will do back in the classroom full time - she honestly never stops talking!

But enough chatter (I wonder where Emmy gets ...

Hi, all!

Here it is, Friday again!  How the weeks do fly by - can you believe it's already the last day of April?  But Fridays are special, because it means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on - are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen progress shots of these two quilts, but yesterday saw the completion of both and they were shipped off to their owner!

This first quilt is a puzzle style t-shirt quilt, with memorabilia from both her own past and that of her two ...

Guess what!  It's finally Friday, and of course, that means that it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  If your week has been anything like mine, you may have a mixed bag of stuff to whoop about, but it's all good - let's get to whooping!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

As I said, it's been a crazy week around here!

With the installation of this cooktop, we are finally finished with the kitchen renovation!  I'm glad to have all of that behind us, and Lilli and I are having a great time breaking in ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Triplets! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Another week has come and gone, and Friday is here once again - and that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  I hope you're ready (I know I am!) so let's get started....

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

After a couple of weeks in the making, I can finally say that the trio of memory quilts is finished!

Aren't they pretty all stacked up like that?
(I played around with the portrait feature on my camera, and I like the effect! Who knew you could take portraits of quilts?)

Even though they are very similar ...

Make-A-List Monday - Not Enough Hours In The Day! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow, last week went fast, didn't it?  And January, too - wasn't Christmas just a couple of weeks ago?  Well, I guess time flies when you're having fun, and there's no better place to have fun than in the sewing room!  Good thing, because I'm going to be spending a LOT of time in there.  It's commission time of year, and they are rolling in.  Hooray!

So let's see how last week's list went....

1.  Write at least one String Therapy tutorial.
Done!  This was the first quilt to make an ...

Wow!  It's Friday again, already?  Where did the week go?  I hope you had a good one, and have lots to whoop about today.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you have on your plate - so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

This week I've been working on a trio of memory quilts, and I'm definitely whooping about having finished two of the tops so far...

...and the third one is up on the design wall and partially sewn together!

I should have all three tops done sometime today, and maybe the backs too!  Now that ...

Make-A-List Monday - And It's December! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

As I sat down to write this, I looked at last week's list and thought, "Was that just a week ago?"  Actually, I asked it out loud and my husband looked at me like I was crazy.  It seems like much more than a week since I last checked my to-dos!  But Monday has rolled around again, and it's time to see how last week went and figure out my goals for this week.

So let's see how I did on last week's list...

1.  Finish the baby quilt.
2.  Make a matching pillow ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A Finish, and a (Sort of) Clean Studio! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday has arrived in a rush this week, but it's here now and you know what that means - it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!    So let's get started...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Surprisingly enough, even though it seems like it was a VERY short week, I managed to have a couple of finishes!  The first was this pretty baby quilt, actually a memory quilt...

The purple plaid was part of a well-loved childhood comforter and became part of this sweet little baby quilt.

If this looks familiar, it should - it's the same pattern as ...

Hi, all!

Another week has come and gone, and it's finally Friday again!  And that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on - are you ready?  I know we're getting close to the holidays and it may be hard to share, but don't feel like you have to show off a finish.  You can share progress shots if you want!  So let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I've had a busy week, but a real mixed bag of achievements.  Here's a good overview of my week...

How about this?  I got this cool ...

Memory quilt ..... my days at UCLA from Simple Dream Quilts

I'm finally hitting the point in my sewing/quilting where I feel I may reach my long time goal of "sewing for a living" sometime before I retire.....:)  After having made a t-shirt quilt for a local customer and receiving much attention and praise I have been receiving custom orders for more quilts from customers all over the country.  Personally I never thought I would enjoy custom orders. They can be quite unnerving, never knowing how to price for your time/materials,  unsure if the customer will happy with the end results and a load of insecurities that hit ...
